Pool removal in Fuengirola: townhouses, chalets and communities

We carry out pool removal in Fuengirola, Los Boliches, Torreblanca and Carvajal, where pools are small, plots are compact and many properties belong to a community of owners.

During: the same house partly demolished, brick and timber sorted into separate piles

In short

In Fuengirola we fill in or remove private and community pools, demolish terraces and garden walls, and take the rubble away. It is a small, highly urban municipality of about 10 km², so most jobs are in townhouses, chalets on the hillside and apartment complexes, where access through the house and the community's agreement matter as much as the demolition itself.

A compact, urban municipality: what that means for pool work

Fuengirola is a highly urban municipality, with many high-rise apartment blocks along the seafront and a small municipal area of about 10 km². It was administratively separated from Mijas in 1841. Detached villas with large gardens are the exception here; much more common are townhouses with a patio pool, chalets on the slopes of Torreblanca and Carvajal, and residential complexes with a shared pool.

That makes the typical job small but tight: a plunge pool in a patio that can only be reached through the house, a community pool that the owners have voted to replace with a garden, or a raised terrace and planters around a pool that are being cleared. Each of these can be handled with a pool infill or a full pool demolition, chosen by what comes next.

Community pools: the owners' meeting decides first

In a building or complex under propiedad horizontal, the community pool is normally a common element. Works affecting common elements need the agreement of the owners' meeting, and before walls, structure or façade elements are demolished the community must be informed. We cannot start a community pool job until the administrator has the agreement in writing.

Once it is agreed, we work with the community's técnico and administrator on the practical side: where machines and skips can go without blocking garages, which hours are allowed, how residents are protected, and how the area is fenced off while the pool is open. Community jobs often combine pool removal with demolishing the old pool showers, toilets or plant room.

Tight access in Los Boliches and Torreblanca

On a street of townhouses in Los Boliches or a stepped plot in Torreblanca, there may be no route for a machine at all. In that case the pool is broken by hand with electric breakers, the rubble is bagged and carried out, and the floors and walls of the house are protected along the route. It is slower, but it is how most small urban pools are removed.

  • We cover the floors and door frames the material passes through.
  • Dust is kept down with water, and noisy work is kept within the hours your community allows.
  • A skip on the public road needs a municipal authorisation, applied for by the owner or their técnico.

Before work starts, the right procedure (declaración responsable or licence) is checked with the Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola; the documents depend on its ordinance, and your técnico handles it.

Terraces, walls and the rest of the patio

Pool jobs in Fuengirola often include the surroundings: a tiled terrace lifted to lay something new, a pergola or barbecue removed, or a block wall that blocks light from a small garden. Those fall under our terrace and outbuilding demolition and wall and fence removal services. A wall shared with a neighbour should only be removed with their agreement, and a wall that retains ground needs a técnico's view first.

Rubble is sorted on site and delivered to an authorised facility, with the receipts sent to you. You can arrange the job in English and follow it through photos. Frequently asked questions

Can you remove a plunge pool that can only be reached through the house?

Yes. The pool is broken by hand, the rubble is bagged and carried out, and floors and doorways along the route are protected.

Our community wants to remove the shared pool. What do we need first?

The agreement of the owners' meeting, recorded by the administrator. After that we coordinate dates, access and resident safety with the community.

Do you work in Carvajal and Torreblanca as well as the centre?

Yes, across Fuengirola, including Los Boliches, Torreblanca and Carvajal.

Can a filled-in patio pool be paved over?

Yes, if the infill is compacted in layers. For heavy structures such as a new extension, a full removal is the safer choice.

Will the work disturb the neighbours a lot?

Breaking concrete is noisy, so we keep it within permitted hours and use water to control dust. Small pools are usually broken out over a short period.

Can you remove the old pool showers and toilets in our complex?

Yes, those small buildings are usually demolished in the same job as the community pool.

Is it worth removing a pool before selling a villa?

That depends on the buyers you expect; some want a pool, others want a low-maintenance garden. Talk to your estate agent before deciding, and keep the documentation if you go ahead.

Is the pool plant room demolished too?

Usually yes, once your electrician or pool company has disconnected the pump, filter and power supply.

Is there a deposit for construction waste?

The town hall may require a deposit or guarantee for construction waste, set in its ordinance and returned once delivery to an authorised manager is proven.
